Fellow direct sellers!

You *ARE* collecting your customer’s birthdays, right?

You *ARE* sending them cards each year, right?

You *do* have a system for making sure you send the cards on time, right?

Now let’s take it a step further—- offer a free gift!  But Heather, I can’t afford to give out free goodies to all of my customers!  I would say— you can’t afford NOT to!  Perhaps some years you’ll give the gift of a large discount.  Perhaps some years you’ll automatically send out a small goodie bag of samples and small items.  This year for my customers I’m sending a card asking them to contact me for their (expensive!) free gift.  This gets them to call or email me, which to me is priceless.  EVEN if they don’t need to purchase anything at the current time they’re thrilled to see I’m offering something so wonderful and that I’m taking the time to remember their birthday and make it special for them.  Next time they need something from me they’ll remember to contact me again for certain!

I offered a choice of two products, both at the same pricepoint.  To receive their gift they need to contact me.  Plus, it creates the urgency to contact me soon because of the expiration.

I have this campaign saved in my Send Out Cards account.  Every day I get email reminders from SOC about who is having a birthday in the next week.  I go into my SOC account, pull up those names, click send campaign, choose that campaign, and boom— it took 30 seconds to send birthday cards with a great offer to my clients the week of their birthday.
